Michaella Walsh, RIP.

The death has occurred peacefully of Michaella Walsh, Mountain View, California, and formerly of Derryharriff, Castlebar at The Stanford Hospital, California, on Sunday, the 28th of June.

Such sad news. Michaella came from her native Mayo to join Sideline Productions at our offices then on Appian Way in Dublin in the 2010s and was a joy to both work with and know. She came in as a ‘junior,’ but she was ‘ahead of the curve’ in so many ways and transformed our digital side of the business. Her creativity, innovative tech, and social leadership on all our projects emboldened and boosted our GAA DVD market plus added secondary broadcast reach to our radio and TV formats. Nothing was too much for Michaella, and when we were producing back-to-back studio productions, she willingly took on any role in casting the net wide for participants and live audiences. It was a pleasure to see her experience and confidence grow. Our post-work Friday pints in Ranelagh were always more upbeat and funnier when Michaella was around.

After Covid she embarked on her next life journey and shared photos of her marriage to her ‘soulmate’ Amelia Meigs (from Seattle), whom she met on her travels. The happy couple moved to California for their next adventure—now sadly cut so short. Last week Michaella passed away after a short illness, just short of her 31st birthday. Much, much too young.
